Apply Online for CSD’s Popular and Growing Dual-Language Immersion Programs

Now there are more opportunities than ever for Canyons District students to become fluent in two languages.

Two Spanish Dual Language Immersion programs have been added to the mix of Spanish, French and Mandarin Chinese programs already offered by the District, which should help meet growing demand for this popular educational opportunity.

The start of October signals the opening of the window to apply for CSD’s Dual Language Immersion Programs for the 2021-2022 school year. Parents and guardians can apply online anytime from Monday, Oct. 5 to Wednesday, Nov. 25.

In addition, families interested in learning about these programs are invited to a virtual Orientation Night on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 6:30-8 p.m. To join the orientation, click here and enter the meeting ID 861 2733 3185 and the passcode 201030.

Looking to Switch Learning Options? Requests Accepted Nov. 1-8

Throughout the pandemic, we have worked to provide families with in-person and remote learning options so they can choose what works best for them given their educational needs and health considerations.

Consistent with that commitment, and knowing circumstances can change, we will soon be inviting families to submit end-of-grading-period requests to switch learning options.

The elementary-school window for submitting change requests is Sunday, Nov. 1 through Sunday, Nov. 8. Those wanting to shift from in-person to one of two remote learning options available, or from remote learning to in-person instruction, will need to submit a change-request by Nov. 8. Unfortunately, we cannot accept any late requests.

Learning option changes will take effect with the start of the trimester on Monday, Nov. 23. No action is required of families who wish to stay with their chosen path.

The three learning options are the same as described at the beginning of the year: In-Person Instruction; Online Instruction; or Parent-Guided, District-Supported At Home Instruction. An explanation of those options can be found at

Detailed instructions for submitting change requests are forthcoming from the school. The choices parents make during this window will guide the complicated process of shifting teaching assignments and allocating other staffing and classroom resources. For this reason, we cannot entertain late change requests.
