My husband’s name is Matt and we have two of the cutest dogs in the world, Finn and Haze. I have two sisters and one brother and I am the oldest sibling in my family.  I went to Utah State University for my Bachelor’s degree.  I earned my Master’s degree from Southern Utah University.  My favorite subject in school is reading. I love to get lost in a good book; to learn new things, or explore new places. Reading takes us to new locations and opens up our minds to new adventures and ideas.

In my free time, I love to be outside; hiking with my husband and dogs, paddle boarding, and camping.  I love to vacation to new places that I have not been to yet. I love to explore new places and learn about new cultures. My favorite vacation I have been on so far was the Galapagos Islands.

I have two dogs, Finn and Haze. Finn is a German Shepherd/Siberian Husky Mix she is will six on October 23rd. Finn is an active dog who loves treats and hates to swim. Haze is a German Shepherd, he is full of energy, loves to play fetch, and swim. He is four years old.

I am so excited to be a Sprucewood Falcon!

My husband Clark and I have been married for 31 years and have 3 grown daughters that all attended Sprucewood Elementary School.  I went to IVCC Illinois Valley Community College.  My favorite subject in school was English because I love to read!!!

In my free time, I like to hike, read, shop, travel and eat chocolate.  I have a 7 pound male Maltese (10) named Charlie. He thinks he is a 100 pound Rottweiler and we adore him. His main goal in life is to rid the world of cats and delivery personal.

I love to travel anywhere I can hike. I love Hawaii but canceled two trips there in 2020 because of Covid 19. I did a Mediterranean cruise last year for our 30th anniversary and loved it.

I have been at Sprucewood for almost 18 years. It’s been a great second home, but it is hard to say goodbye to all the teachers that have retired. A lot of people ask how I can work outside everyday for so long. It’s the second part of the job, helping the teachers, that gives me the most satisfaction.

Chris Carlson- Instructional Assistant

I’m the fifth child out of six. I love my parents and siblings fiercely. My husband comes from a large family as well. Fun little trivia fact, I’m the great aunt to over 120 nieces and nephews. Although we come from large families, we only have two children. One girl and one boy. They are the perfect mix of both of us.  I like to spend time with my family, travel, read, and work on projects in my free time.

I got my bachelors degree in Floral Design Management from Ricks College (now BYU-Idaho). I love flowers, especially wedding flowers. I’ve done weddings for over 23 years and owned my own business for 10 of those years.

I’m a right brained person, so any subject that let me use my creative side was my favorite. I can definitely tell you economics was my least favorite. I dropped that course like a hot potato.

I love traveling and seeing new places. I’ve had the opportunity to see 47 of the 50 states, and travel to over 17 different countries. So I guess my favorite spots to vacation are the ones I haven’t seen yet. As far as places I’d like to go back and spend more time, there are too many to name. But Bali, Greece, southern France, Bryce Canyon, Yellowstone, and family in California would be on it.

This is my sixth year as a Sprucewood employee.  I also oversee the Falcon Report and love it!
