Amanda Breinholt- Nutrition Worker

Amanda has been married for 19 year and has 3 children, Daxton 17, Connor 14 and Kinley 9.

I like to go on hikes with my family. I like to go to movies but haven’t since the pandemic started. I miss the movie theater!  I have a chihuahua puppy named Moki and a hamster named Tilly.

In high school I was in the class that taught the preschool. I loved that class!

We have had some fun family vacations. We went to Knott’s Berry Farm, Disneyland, Yellowstone, Bryce Canyon, Vernal. Really I like going anywhere as long as I’m with my family. It’s fun getting away and being together.

I love working at Sprucewood. We have great kids there and I love seeing them everyday!

Catherine Abundo- SPED Teacher

My family is my reason and my inspiration. I have a hardworking, supportive and very goofy husband who is everyone’s favorite eye doctor. Our son, Kyle, is almost 21 years old who may look like a mean college football defensive lineman but deep inside, he’s a big teddy bear. Our high school senior daughter, Ellie, is my dancing bug who is always ready to leap and tackle any obstacle that comes her way.  We have an 11 year old Cockapoo, Hurley, who is a true mama’s boy and a 5 year old Akita Inu, Henry, who just loves people of all ages.

I went to California State University, Long Beach for my undergraduate degree.  My master’s degree is from University of Phoenix.  My favorite subject in school was English because learning English as a second language at the age of 10, I wanted to learn as many big words as I could in order to understand everything around me and to be able to speak the language better.

In my free time, I like to spend time with family and friends, hiking and camping.  We love to take vacations to Hawaii, Mexico, Bahamas and the Philippines because we love the beaches.

I have been very fortunate to have worked at Sprucewood for 15 years. We have an amazing and very supportive staff and the best group of students and community!

Cathy Schino - Principal

Mrs. Schino has been married to her husband, Joe, for 22 years. He teaches math at Alta High. Her 20 year old son, Sam, is studying to be a pilot at Utah State. Her 18 year old son, Gabe, is in the professional golf management program at UNLV.

For her undergraduate degree, she attended St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA.  She received her Masters from University of Phoenix.  She enjoyed her psychology classes the most. Research about the brain has always intrigued her. She’s always been fascinated by how behavior is effected by the way we think.

Mrs. Schino has two dogs.  Lulu is a boxer, lab, husky mix and is 11 years old. We don’t know what Cici is a mix of! She is 3 years old and full of energy. She loves to hike with her dogs, reading for leisure on her back deck, and doing puzzles.

When she was a child, her family went to the Jersey Shore for one week each summer! She has always taken her family to Anna Maria Island in Florida for our beach vacations because her sister and her family live there.

Mrs. Schino got a Nordic Track bike this spring. It came with the interactive riding videos that allow you to ride with a trainer all over the world! Right now, she is in the middle of a mountain bike riding series in New Zealand. It is so fun to ride in the guest bedroom, but feels like she is in different parts of the world because of the amazing videos.
