LANDtrust Goal

Budget

$45,942.88- Entire budget will be used to pay for Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) aide salaries.  We are on course.

Data

Our first growth data point will be available during our February 2023 SCC meeting.  Pathways of Progress data is formulated by combining our Fall data (September) and Winter data (end of January).

  • Begin Child Access Routing Plan (SNAP) and prepare recommendations.  Due January 14th.
  • Text Description of Safe Walking Routes
  • The school map identifies the safest general routes. (see SNAP map attachment)
  • Students should use sidewalks when available. If there are no sidewalks, students should walk in a safe manner, facing oncoming traffic, as close to the edge of the road as possible.

Zone 1

Hidden Valley Road: West down Hidden Valley Road, enter the school grounds at the south entrance gate.

Pineridge, Cinnamon Ridge, Mill Ridge Road: North to Hidden Valley Road, walk west, enter the school grounds at the south entrance gate.

Pond Ridge Drive to Riparian Drive or Cattail Drive: East to 1000 East, north on west side of 1000 East to crossing guard in front of school.

*Sunset Ponds area-encouraged to carpool.

Zone 5

West of 700 East (Bus Zone): Ride the bus rather than walk or ride their bicycles to school.

East of 700 East between 12000 South and 12300 South (Bus Zone): Ride the bus rather than walk or ride their bicycles to school.

*Walking east along 12300 South to 1000 East to access the school is not an approved safe route.

  • Concerns for Canyons School District

There are no sidewalks on the east side of 700 East, only a large shoulder. This shoulder for students to walk on, especially in the winter, is hazardous when the snow plows push the snow onto that shoulder. Several students have been observed riding bikes in the road on this stretch due to the snow.

*We would like Canyons to declare this location a hazardous route and add a bus stop at the turn in for Sunset Ponds on the east side of the road.

  • Concerns for Community

*Add a sidewalk from 11800 South to Meadow Wood Drive on 700 East

There is a bus stop directly across the street from the Sunset Pond subdivision. *Add a crossing guard on 700 East to supervise students across the street and allow access to the current bus stop. (There is a bus stop directly across the street from the Sunset Pond subdivision.)

*Put in a crosswalk with school crossing signs and a light to indicate that drivers should stop when pedestrians are crossing.

*Add a school crossing sign to the Trax Crossing intersection on 700 East right before Kimball’s Lane to make the public aware that the Sunset Pond’s students could be walking across the street to ride the bus if permitted a bus pass.

*Add a solar crossing light on Riparian Dr. that mirrors Sunburn Ln. Orange lights will alert drivers to students crossing.

  • Infrastructure Changes

There are no known changes to the infrastructure that we are aware of.

No/ We are currently half way through teaching students zones of regulation in tier 1 lessons with Mrs. Guyman.  Teachers’ report learning the zones, and having common language has helped students regulate strong emotions across school settings. Also, our K-3 teachers are working very closely with the rollout and implementation of 95% which requires extra time and feedback for the benefit of the district.

Jen Dean

No/We piloted 95% last year. This year we are implementing a new reading basal. We are also using Zones of Regulation.

Cheryl Becerra

No/Wait until the bugs are worked out.

Mindy Cupello

No/Wait until everything is worked through.

Jason Dyer

No/We don’t need to overwhelm teachers.

Parker Lindsay

No/Agree with Mrs. Lo

Emigh Lo
