Skylert from 10/18/21

Hello Sprucewood Families,

Welcome back from Fall Break!  Below are 5 important updates that all families need to know to ensure daily student success …

1) Do not send any TOYS to school:  We will provide access to appropriate items for students to play with while at school.  Sending toys from home has resulted in theft, broken items, conflict and distractions from learning.  Thank you for making sure your student keeps his/her personal toys at home!

2) Dress your student appropriately for the cold weather: Students will play outside until the temperature is below 22 degrees, so send your student with coats, hats and gloves. It is most helpful when parents label their student’s items with their names!

3) School T-shirt and Hoodie orders are due: Please send your order form and payment to the office by Wednesday, October 20th.

4) Parking Lot Safety

a) Do not use the bus lane for any pick-up or drop-off.  This includes preschool families and breakfast students.

b) Use the crosswalk- we only have one!  If a parent parks in a parking stall located in front of the building, then that parent must escort his/her student to and from the car to the sidewalk areas by using the crosswalk (indicated by white painted stripes located directly in front of our main doors).

c) Car line parents stay in your car at all times!

Please note: Parents can park in the east side parking lot by the hill/blacktop so their student does not have to cross traffic at all!  Also, remember that pick up along Hidden Valley Drive behind the school, and Cedar Ridge north of the school are options supported by crossing guards.

5) Halloween Details:

a) Sprucewood will hold a Halloween Parade on Friday, October 29th.  Our parade will be held outside at 9:15am IF weather permits.  Parents plan to line up in front of the building from the gate at the blacktop area to the preschool playground.  Staff will help direct you on the morning of the 29th!

b)  Sprucewood will also hold classroom Halloween parties Friday, October 29th.  Times and treats will vary from class to class.  Look for party information from your teacher coming soon on DOJO and emails. Volunteers who have completed the Canyons District volunteer application are welcome. https://foundation.canyonsdistrict.org/volunteer/
