Hello Sprucewood Families,

  1. Our School Community Council (SCC) has three open seats this year.  Please email Principal Schino at cathleen.schino@canyonsdistrict.org or call our office 801-826-9475 if you are interested in serving on Sprucewood’s SCC.  All names must be received by this Friday, August 26th at 3:00pm to get your name on the election ballot. Visit this link for information about SCCs and what they do to help our school. https://sprucewood.canyonsdistrict.org/school-community-council/

  1. Pick up and drop off safety expectations
    1. Teacher supervision begins at 8:35am.  Please plan to arrive when supervision is available.
    2. All children must always be chaperoned by an adult while in parking lot areas.
    3. Drop off and pick up lane students must exit and enter cars in the green flag areas using a door closest to the school building.  Students may not walk around cars for any reason.  Students will use the white crosswalk nearest the bike rack.
    4. Drop off and pick up lane is for students who can quickly enter and exit a car without needing assistance or holding up the rest of the line.
    5. Parents must stay in their car while using the drop off and pick up lane.  No parking or exiting cars in this lane for any reason.
    6. For those who need extra time or assistance, please park your car and escort your student all the way to and from the sidewalk area.
    7. Everyone who parks in our front parking lot must cross using the white crosswalk located by the front doors of the school.  This is the only crosswalk area for this parking lot.

  1. Lunchroom reminders
    1. Breakfast and lunches have a cost this year. Visit this link for breakfast and lunch pricing and free and reduced application.  https://www.canyonsdistrict.org/depts/nutrition-services/
    2. Canyons School District has moved to an online payment system.
    3. Families will be responsible to pay for any food their student takes during breakfast or lunch time.
    4. Please make sure your student knows what he/she is supposed to eat each day.
    5. Reinforce how important it is to only take what a student orders in the morning as our kitchen staff prepares food according to those morning lunch counts.

We are off to an AMAZING start.  Our students are doing an excellent job being actively involved in their learning.

Go Falcons!
