Teacher of the Year

We are announcing Sprucewood’s 2022 Teacher of the Year on Tuesday, March 29th at 9:00am! Join us on our Sprucewood Facebook page (Sprucewood Elementary) to see the live stream.

Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS):

Care Cards are given through DOJO to reinforce students for following our three school rules-

                          1) Take care of yourself

                          2) Take care of others

                          3) Take care of our school

Our current total is 90,101 care cards!  Our next milestone is 100,000-woohoo.  We’ll let you know when we get there.

High Flyer Awards are given every week for demonstrating one of our school values-

             C- creativity

A- assertiveness (week of Mar 7)

R- resiliency (week of Mar 14)

E- effort (week of Mar 21)

S- safety (week of Mar 28)

Look for a positive phone call from Principal Schino when your student is being celebrated as a High Flyer!

School Community Council (SCC):

Our SCC meets once a month.  All community members can attend meetings. SCC information and access to meeting minutes can be found on our school website (sprucewood.canyonsdistrict.org> community> school community council).

This month the committee is finalizing input on Sprucewood’s Teacher Student Success Plan (TSSP) and LANDtrust budget.

Digital Citizenship:

Parents know firsthand the impact a poor night’s sleep has on kids. Lack of sleep can contribute to crankiness, problems with attention and learning, behavior issues, and even health problems such as obesity. Though the reasons for poor sleep vary, there’s growing evidence that media and technology interfere with bedtime routines and sleep. Learn more from Common Sense about how to help your kid get a good night’s sleep at https://cnyns.org/3iQHsSb (Links to an external site.).

Important Dates:

March 25th:  Remote Learning Friday

April 4th-8th:  Spring Break

Thank you for supporting our school and our students!
