Faculty Spotlight – Shannon Saltzsieder

Shannon Saltzsieder is a second grade teacher.

My family consists of my two dogs, Bueller and Hachi, that my boyfriend and I love so much! In my immediate family I am the youngest of three girls, and I am loved by my amazing dad, as well as my mom and her partner. Though my family is spread out across three states, we still get together as often as possible and cherish those sweet moments.  I received my undergraduate in Elementary Education from Florida Gulf Coast University. I am currently working on my masters in Fine Arts Teaching at the University of Utah. I love all Italian food!  The best treat is chocolate cinnamon bears! I love to go hiking with my dogs around Utah. My two pets, who are the greatest thing the world ever created are Bueller and Hachi! They are both rescue pups. Bueller is a Pitbull/German Shepherd mix, and Hachi is a Cattle Dog/Long Haired Chihuahua mix.  My favorite subject was always anything artistic, specifically technical theatre. I loved lighting. I minored in theatre throughout college. My masters I am currently working on is a concentration in theatre! I love to vacation anywhere new. I have been to 45 states and four continents. I am trying to see every state by the time I am thirty, and every continent by the time I am fifty! I worked at Walt Disney World for five years and lived within ten minutes of the park for ten years, so if you ever need help planning a vacation, I am your girl!

We are so glad Miss Saltzsieder is a Sprucewood Falcon!
