Call to order- 4:08
Approval of last month’s meeting minutes- approved and seconded
Review of LandTrust plan- we are on course and doing great. Teachers had their last professional development from the TSSp around Conscious Classroom on Friday, March 7.
Behavior Plan- questions/concerns- any opportunities for younger grades to be more active/involved- maybe a reading buddy or grade cross-level buddy. This could be end-of-the-year positive notes, where the younger grade students write a nice motivational note to students during testing times.
Do Care cards fall under this behavior plan? We do use it for our school-wide PBIS, however it does not need to be represented in the plan.
Do we vote on this? Right now we’re putting our eyes on it and giving any feedback or suggestions. The above feedback can be taken into account for the next SCC.
Is there any funding in this plan for schoolwide rewards? In this part no. School-wide rewards are typically not monetary items- sock day, hat day, etc. The team feels the management of this should be on classroom teachers to differentiate based on individual classroom teams.
Other: Amy Wall asked about changing bylaws to include an EEC parent to attend all meetings.
Principal Schino spoke with our district SCC representative, Susan Edwards, and Susan cautioned us about writing this into our bylaws. She stated that meetings would be in jeopardy of being canceled if the parent did not attend. She said it would be wiser to encourage and support an EEC parent to attend rather than writing into the bylaws.
Maybe not in the by laws, but that we do our best to recruit and make sure that parents are aware and representing the EEC parents and students. Fall is when we do our SCC recruitment and membership. ECC does have a parent square group so can advocate for that community.
