Faculty Spotlight – Dr. Alec Brown

This week is National School Psychologists week! Sprucewood is lucky to have the very best in Dr. Alec Brown.

In his own words: I graduated with a masters degree from BYU and a doctoral degree from ASU, and I’ve worked in school districts in Utah and Arizona. Me and my wife, Jennifer, are the parents of four children ranging from 22 to 11 years old, and one of my favorite ways to spend my time is hanging out with my family and extended family. I enjoy reading aloud to my children at night—everything from Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, to Hatchet and Half Magic. Currently we are reading Michael Vey. I enjoy watching sports of all kinds, and I dabble in a variety of outdoor activities including pickleball, spikeball, hiking, mountain biking, and running.I love being a part of the Sprucewood community and getting to know the awesome personalities of our students, and one of my favorite things about working at an elementary school is when I get a chance to play a game with the students on the playground or in the classroom—elementary students know how to have fun! We think Dr. Brown knows how to have fun too! Just check out his costume from Halloween!

Thanks for all you do for the students and faculty at Sprucewood!
